Why is my 1 month 15 days old baby crying continuously?

Hello doctor,

Actually, we have a newly born baby boy of around one month and 15 days. Our baby has a problem that, he continuously cries. Yeah, we agree that generally, newly born babies cry normally, but we cannot accept our babies crying act. Why does he cry continuously?

Please help. We are really worried about him. By seeing him crying we cannot even sit. Please help us.

  2. What feed do you give?
  3. What about stool pattern?
  4. Do you let baby burp after feeds?
  5. Have you tried any medication, if yes, which?
  6. How does the baby get calm?
  7. How does the baby sleep?
  8. Any vomits?

Thank you for your instant reply. Our answers:

  1. There is no specific period we can say.
  2. Both breastfeeding as well as cow milk.
  3. White.
  4. No.
  5. No.
  6. On his own.
  7. Less than seven hours in a day. Cannot sleep more.
  8. Yes but very very less.

We got two things that you are not doing right:

  1. Stop cow milk, it has more protein not easily digested by the baby. Can use any formula milk if mothers milk is not sufficient.
  2. Try to get baby burp after each feeds.

Your child is probably having colicky pain. Try doing this. There are a few medications as well but try this for at least 4 to 5 days, if it helps no need of medication.
