Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am an 18-year-old female with a height of 5 feet and 3 inches and roughly 130 pounds. I took two pregnancy tests, and both came back negative. I have been cramping, having white discharge, and being more irritable, but I have not started my period. I am not bleeding at all whatsoever. My last period was early last month, and I have not practiced unsafe sex. I am taking Trazadone currently. I have taken Sprintec for a while, then stopped, and it has been inconsistent since four months ago. It has not been a problem in the past when I was inconsistent. What is happening?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through your case, and I understand your concern.

Sometimes periods might get delayed by one or two weeks because of some stress or recent illness, but since you said they were irregular for the past few months. Then I suggest you do USG (ultrasonography) pelvis scan, thyroid profile, and CBC (complete blood count) to rule out any pathology. There is also a possibility that in the early days of pregnancy, the kit might show false results, so you can also confirm it by blood beta-hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) levels.

Hope this information helps you.

Thank you.
