Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I cleaned my contact lenses in Oxysept neutralizing solution (without realizing I needed to add a neutralizing tablet) and then put my lens back in my eye. There was an immediate burning sensation, I removed the lens, but my eye is red, bloodshot, and uncomfortable. This happened around seven pm last night. Please advise how to treat this. I am 11 weeks pregnant, and I have previously had an ulcer on my cornea in this eye and am therefore keen to treat it as early as possible. Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
In that case, I advised you not to use contact lenses because you already had a corneal ulcer in that eye, so you are already predisposed to it. For now, use glasses. Try to bathe below your shoulders, so water will not enter your eyes. Also, avoid cleaning your eyes with water. Use lubricant eye drops four to six times. Seek medical advice to rule out any ulcers. Thank you.
