Why is there constipation, painful defecation, rectal bleeding, and anal itching in me?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I defecate two times a week, and I suffer from chronic constipation for the last year. Today while defecating due to hard stool it was very painful and drops of blood came out from the rectal region. At night itching occurs in the anal region. I am not taking any medicines. Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I thoroughly read your query and understand your concern. Please answer the questions for a better understanding of your problem: Are there any other associated symptoms? Do you have any burning sensation while urinating? Do you eat a lot of outside food or junk or non-vegetarian foods? Is there any medicine that does not suit you or causes an allergic reaction? How much water do you consume in 24 hours? Do you do any kind of walking, yoga, or exercise included in your routine? When was your last menstrual period? I suggest you do the investigations: CBC (complete blood count), stool examination for occult blood, and stool routine test. Please answer the above questions. So I can suggest you the treatment plan and medicines. Meanwhile, keep well hydrated. Take plenty of fluids. A fiber-rich diet that is balanced can be used unless otherwise contraindicated. Get physically examined. Monitor temperature.

Hope this helps. Follow back with reports. Warm regards.
