Why do I have abdominal pain, cramping, vomiting, indigestion, and difficulty in defecation?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have stomach pain, cramping, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, indigestion, vomiting undigested food. I checked my stool and found some worm-like objects. But I guess it could be undigested food, fiber, or mucosa. I consulted a doctor, and he said that it could be a stomach worm. And he advised me to stop taking laxatives. Now, I need to defecate, but I cannot do it. My upper stomach is bloated after eating.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I reviewed your history and the picture provided (attachments removed to protect the patient’s identity). It seems that your intestinal movements are abnormal.

I suggest you start the following treatment;

1) Ispaghula Husk (Psyllium) one sachet in one glass of water at night.

2) Tablet Domperidone (antiemetic) 10 mg thrice daily before food for ten days.

Your symptoms will improve in few days with the treatment mentioned above.

Take care.

Probable diagnosis

Intestinal dysmotility.

Regarding follow up

Revert after two weeks.
