What is the possible cause of the concentric remodeling of my left ventricle?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I got 2D echocardiography, TMT, and ECG done. I am diagnosed with the concentric remodeling of the left ventricle. What is the possible cause of it? How can it be cured?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through the details you provided. Concentric remodeling of the left ventricle means there is an increase in the thickness of the left ventricular heart muscle. It may occur due to various reasons, for example, hypertension, aortic stenosis (narrowing of the aortic valve), coarctation of the aorta, kidney diseases, storage diseases, obesity, etc. Its treatment includes treating the underlying cause, such as treatment of hypertension, aortic stenosis, etc. So, we have to find its cause, then treat it accordingly. Thanks.
