What is the reason for small bumps on my forehead, nose, and chin?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 18 years old. I have small bumps on my forehead, nose, and chin. When I researched my skin condition online, closed comedones are the name of my skin issue. I have used multiple skincare products, but none of them seems to work for me. Right now, I do not know what to do. What should I use? Can you help me?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Comedones appear due to humidity, lifestyle, diet, and hormonal fluctuations mostly seen during teenage. Kindly include an image as it will be easier to advise you based on your skin type. As of now, to lessen the appearance of the tiny bumps, I would suggest using Salicylic acid 2% + Glycolic acid face wash in the morning and night to cleanse your face. It will help in cleansing the pores and getting rid of the bumps. Make sure to follow a balanced diet with loads of fruits and vegetables and reduce red meat intake, if any. Avoid milk and dairy products, and sugar including sweets and chocolates. Drink at least 12 glasses of water a day. I hope I could be of help. Stay healthy, happy, and safe.
