Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
For the past two days, my clitoris has been extremely swollen (a little bit bigger than a pea) and red. Yesterday it began to itch or sting, making it difficult to sleep. I thought it was a yeast infection, but I did not see any discharge. This has been very difficult to deal with, and I would like to know how to get rid of my swollen clit. Also, my left lip is beginning to hurt as well. Please help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and can understand your concern.
Either you got an infection by having sex, or you have got local inflammation, but as you said, it is spreading to other parts, so it could be an infection. So, giving a high vaginal swab and local swab or skin scraping from lesions is better.
1. Have a Sitz bath and sit in warm water to reduce pain or irritation.
2. Do not use any cosmetics or products locally.
3. Wear soft, comfortable undergarments.
4. Follow strict genital hygiene.
5. Use condoms to reduce transmission of sexually transmitted diseases.
After collecting swabs, I suggest you take a tablet of Doxycycline 100 mg twice daily and a tablet of Metronidazole 400 mg 8 hourly for 14 days. However, please consult a physician, discuss with them, and start taking the medications with their consent.
Hope this helps.
Thanks and take care.
