How to manage an injury caused by the cutting machine?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My husband does not really have a health insurance card, and we cannot really afford to go to a clinic. So, he was cutting bricks the other day with a machine that has circular blades and accidentally cut himself. He says he feels it cut through his bone, and we were wondering how he could take care of it.

Kindly help.

Hi,

I am delighted to welcome you at icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

I have reviewed the attached image (attachment removed to protect the patient’s identity).I could see that there are significant cuts on both hands and legs. It requires medical attention, as it may lead to infection with pus formation and numerous complications later on. Spending a few money now is much better than spending a substantial amount once pus or infection sets in. Take a tetanus booster dose immediately. Begin taking Amoxicillin plus Clavulanic acid combination drug (625 mg) three times daily for five days. Also, start with Diclofenac plus Serratiopeptidase combination drug twice daily for five days. You might need to continue taking the medicines based on how the wounds respond. I strongly recommend visiting your doctor now to prevent any complications.

Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further.

Thank you.
