Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have chronic pain in my back. For more than two years, it has been there. Although I do not work hard or carry a lot of extra weight, I have previously been exposed to really cold temperatures. Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and can understand your concern.
The lumbar spine most likely has spondylosis. You experience pain and other symptoms as a result of the compression of your spinal nerves. Do you have a history of spinal trauma? If yes, was it accompanied by tingling, numbness, or a pins-and-needles feeling in your lower extremities, among other symptoms? I suggest you check your vitamin D levels and have magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of your dorsolumbar spine, as X-rays are only a preliminary study and are unlikely to show any small anomalies. Physiotherapy to relieve nerve compression and medication are the treatments for this. Up until that point, you can use Diclofenac gel for topical application and a nerve vitamin called Neurobion Forte pill once a day. Additionally, I suggest you take Flexon MR (Ibuprofen, Paracetamol, and Chlorzoxazone), a medication that combines Ibuprofen with a muscle relaxant, in place of Ibuprofen. Try hot water fomentation as well.
I hope this helps.
Thank you and take care.
Regards.
