Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I got chlamydia a year back from my boyfriend during our first date. A few months ago, I had bleeding during and after the sex. When I consulted a doctor, he told me I was fine. But I took an STD test and got a positive result. So I took antibiotics. After a few months, my boyfriend and I repeated the tests and got negative results. Should I be concerned about fertility issues?
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Please mention about your antibiotics and treatment duration. As you took antibiotics, the side effects of chlamydia are less likely to occur. Do you have lower abdomen pain?
Patient's Query
Thank you doctor for the reply.
I did not take antibiotics for the past two months and had bleeding during sex eight months back but never had abdominal pain. I was prescribed tablet Zithromax 500 mg by my doctor.
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
The problem with chlamydia is that many women with chlamydia do not know that they have chlamydia because of mild symptoms. If untreated, it can cause pelvic inflammatory disease (PID). Complications are unlikely as you got it treated and got negative results after treatment. If there are any symptoms like pain during sex, lower abdomen pain, or bleeding during sex, redo an STD test. I suggest tablet Zithromax (Azithromycin) 500 mg, two tablets once daily.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
