Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I had received a positive chlamydia test from a laboratory one week ago. And I am experiencing a burning sensation while urinating. Could you help me get the necessary treatment or prescription? Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
According to the test reports (attachments removed to protect the patient’s identity), you have an STD (sexually transmitted diseases) called non-gonococcal urethritis, an infection of the urethra (tube that connects your urinary bladder and urine output hole on your penis). It needs antibiotics, which has to be prescribed by your doctor as it cannot be purchased over the counter. You should not have sexual intercourse until the infection is cured. Your sexual partner should also take antibiotics. I suggest you both take tablet Azithromycin once daily and tablet Doxycycline twice daily for a week. Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Thanks for the reply. Could you please give me a prescription for Azithromycin? Thank you in advance.
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I cannot do that. I advise you to go to the nearest emergency medicine department and get examined by the doctor, and request him for the prescription. In your case, a prescription must be provided physically with a signature and stamp from the doctor. Thank you.
