Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have pain under the collarbone in my chest. I am worried about that. It lasts for about 30 minutes. The pain scale is about a 3 out of 10. It is like a pain that comes and goes every 3 minutes or so. I also have a few heart murmurs. Please help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
The location and character of pain you told are not related to the heart, yet I want a few details to guide you more.
Do you have diabetes or hypertension? Do you smoke or drink? Do you have a family history of cardiac issues? Have you ever experienced such pain before? Is there any relation between pain and exertion or food intake? Do you have a cough or fever? If pain persists or increases, get an ECG (electrocardiogram) done, especially if you have any risk factors I asked about above. Most probably, the pain is not cardiac.
I hope this helps.
Please revert so I can assist you further.
Thank you.

Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thank you for the reply. I only have a mitral heart valve murmur and a tripod heart murmur. I had an echo done a few years ago, and my heart valves were thickened, and that was about it. I also have pectus excavatum. Please help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Mild mitral valve regurgitation is common. Mitral regurgitation does not cause any pain. Echocardiography should be repeated every three to five years, depending upon the severity of regurgitation. You can share your echocardiography report.
I hope this helps.

Thank you.
