Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am a 21-year-old female with cerebral palsy and epilepsy. I am on a wheelchair because I have no leg balance, but I can walk with support from my father or mother. Is there anything that can be done about it?
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and can understand your concern.
Unfortunately, there is not much to do about your clinical condition as there has been brain damage since the birth. Physiotherapy is the primary treatment to improve muscle function and gait. It can also help against spasticity. Other treatments are muscle relaxants for spasms. Antiepileptic drugs are usually used during the entire life.
However, please consult a physician, discuss with them and start taking the medications with their consent.
I hope it helps.
