Does tilted uterus mean womb shift?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have some concerns regarding my ability to conceive. My husband and I have a two-year-old son, and we have decided to have another child. I have observed that my periods only last for two days, and during intercourse, it seems that some sperm do not enter me. Furthermore, a recent scan indicated that my uterus is tilted. Does this mean my womb has shifted? I would appreciate your insights and answers on these matters.

Thank you and have a nice day ahead.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understood your concern.

I would like to inquire about the mode of delivery for your son, specifically whether it was a vaginal birth or a cesarean section. If it was a cesarean section, it might be advisable for your health to wait another year before attempting to conceive again. Regarding your second question, a small amount of sperm spilling outside during intercourse is not a concern, as long as a portion of it is deposited deep inside the vagina. Kindly provide all your previous scan and blood reports, including the one that mentioned the tilt of your uterus. Additionally, let me know if your periods are regular or not. In the meantime, I suggest you take a tablet of Folic acid 5 mg once day after meal. I hope this has helped you. Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.

Thank you.

Treatment plan

A tablet of Folic acid (5mg) once daily after lunch.
