What can be the cause of burning sensation in eyes after ICL surgery?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I did my ICL surgery six months back. Now my right eye is burning. What can be the cause of that?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

A burning sensation is the chief complaint of patients with dry eyes. The causes of dry eye are several in number and ICL surgery by itself rarely causes dry eye. Although there are innumerable causes of dry eyes, the treatment is purely based on the severity of symptoms and usually starts with carboxymethylcellulose acetate 0.5 % eye drops. In case you do want to find out the exact cause of your dry eyes, you would need to get a thorough eye exam with or without eye or blood tests. In case you have any further questions, kindly send me a scanned copy of your doctors report, test reports. I will do my best to help you.
