How to manage the burning sensation caused due to Fucicort cream?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have used Fucicort cream on my face for two days. Then I got a red burning sensation. Now six weeks later, the places where I put the cream on are shiny and wrinkly and the skin texture is different. Is this going to go away?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

From your brief history, I understand that you got a reaction to the topical you were using. But it is not mentioned for what indication you used Fucicort. Since it is a steroidal cream, it can cause a skin reaction to some sensitive skin type. The change in the texture of that area is because of the same reason. Any hypopigmentation that is produced on the skin will take a normal course of four to six months to revert to normal by itself, so do not panic. However, if you want rapid results you can choose laser-assisted treatments. But for a few days refrain from using any makeup or chemical products on the skin and apply just a gel-based sunscreen such as LaField sunscreen two hours before getting out in the sun.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
