What causes stinging and burning sensations in the nose?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I feel like a spider has been trapped in my nose and throat. I keep hearing ticking and buzzing sounds. I had my ears examined by a doctor, but they discovered nothing. I have been experiencing stinging and burning sensations in my nose as if something is clogged there, and I believe it is in my nose and throat. Sometimes I feel like I am being stung by something. What should I do?

Answered by Dr. Rajesh Jain

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

There is nothing to be worried about. Consult an ENT (ear, nose, and throat) surgeon. Meanwhile, you can take these medications. Tablet containing Montelukast and Fexofenadine combination (120 mg/10 mg) once daily for seven days, and a tablet of vitamin C (500 mg) twice daily for seven days. In addition, inhale steam three times daily and drink two glasses of herbal tea.

I hope you are satisfied with my answer. For further queries, you can consult me at icliniq.

Thank you.
