Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I noticed a white scaly bump on the shaft of my penis yesterday. I removed it with my hands and noticed some pus discharge and redness. I also noticed a small circular bump on the head of my penis. I masturbated multiple times recently, and I live in a dry climate. Is it because of the dryness and friction? I have not noticed any more bumps anywhere else. There is no tingling, itching, burning, or pain due to the bumps.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I have reviewed the three images (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity). If there is no risk of exposure, you need not worry. As you said, it may be due to dryness or irritation. I suggest you do the following. Avoid friction and irritation. Wear loose cotton inner wears. Avoid overcleaning, and do not use harsh soaps to clean. Clean the area with warm water twice daily. If the area is too dry, I suggest you use mild moisturizing lotion or cream once. Observe for a few days. Then, you can consult your doctor for further examination and management if you develop any other symptoms.
Patient's Query
Thank you doctor for the reply,
I was worried because I had used the towel of my friend recently without knowing if they had anything communicable. Besides that, there should be no exposure risks. I will keep an eye on it and follow your suggestions.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
The chances of transmission of a few contagious diseases are possible by sharing towels. This lesion does not appear like any of them in the images (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity). If there are no other exposure risks, then the chances of STDs (sexually transmitted diseases) or HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) are almost negligible by sharing towels. Observe for a few days. You can consult your doctor for examination and management if it does not subside or worsens. Thank you.
