How to treat small, painless, movable bumps in the mouth?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have discovered a peculiar bump in my mouth, but I am not sure how to describe it accurately. It is small and movable, and I have attached some pictures to help convey its appearance. At the moment, I am unsure whether it is painful as I am currently feeling unwell due to an illness circulating at my school. I only noticed this bump recently after eating. The bump does not cause any significant discomfort. Unfortunately, my parents do not take my health concerns seriously. Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Have you considered using honey on the lump? If not, I suggest you try it as a quick remedy. Apply honey to the lump for a few minutes and repeat the process until the lump disappears. Additionally, you can rinse your mouth twice daily with a mixture of salt water and baking soda, which may have beneficial effects. If the lump does not subside, I suggest visiting a dentist for a biopsy to determine the nature of the lump and explore options for its removal. I also suggest you take vitamin B12 or folic acid tablets and multivitamin syrup. Avoid consuming spicy and hot foods, as they may exacerbate the condition. If you experience discomfort from the lump, try placing an ice cube in your mouth for relief.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
