I have a problem in taking a deep breath while inhaling the entire day. Why?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I take deep breaths while inhalation. It happens for a month now. I have normal breathing but deep breathing causes an issue. I have a mild cough in the morning. I do not have any breathing issues while sleeping. I noticed increased burping after taking meals or drinking water. I took Pantop two times a day and Acinil three times a day. But it did not help me. I do not have any other symptoms. Please suggest.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Please take a test for COVID-19 (severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2). These symptoms match with a diagnosis of mild COVID-19 infection affecting a young individual. Stop taking Pantop and Acinil syrup. You can take Gaviscon liquid (sodium alginate with sodium bicarbonate). Alginates are safer and more efficient.

The Probable causes

You have a compromised lung function.

Investigations to be done

You need to do covid-19 (severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2) PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test and covid-19 antibody test.

Differential diagnosis

You can have other infection and a CA (carcinoma) mass.

Probable diagnosis

You can have covid-19 (severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2).

Treatment plan

Take a Covid (severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2) test as mentioned above and also take a test for bacterial infection. Do sonography of the upper abdomen. Take Gaviscon liquid instead of current stomach protecting drugs.

Regarding follow up

Have a follow up after getting the results.
