What do body pain, headache, and blurred vision indicate?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have had pain in my whole body and had a headache with pressure on my forehead. I was feeling so weak and drowsy. My vision was blurred. I went to a doctor and he told me to do a blood test. I have attached the reports. I see some of them have abnormal values like hemoglobin and HCT. My cholesterol level is also too high. Do you think I have a brain tumor or a heart disease? Can you check my blood work?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Your main complaint is headache, blurred vision, and body pain. Apart from a brain tumor, there are many other conditions that lead to such complaints. You have not mentioned your blood pressure value. For your initial work-up blood pressure should be measured and a neurological examination needs to be done. If it is normal then an otological evaluation should be done as an otitis-like ear infection condition can lead to referred headache and dizziness Your report values are within limits HB (hemoglobin) and HCT (hematocrit) values are slightly high but I suggest you repeat it after a week. It does not look like polycythemia as you suspect a temporary viral infection that can lead to headache, body pain, and drowsiness as constitutional symptoms If no improvement and visual blurring are present then a CT scan can be done to rule out any organic cause if present. Consult a nearby physician for examination with keeping all this in mind. I hope this will help you.

Thank you.
