Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have had blurred vision in my left eye field for two months and consulted a doctor. During the examination, the doctor found a swelling in my left eye. I am diabetic and under medication. What could be the reason for this? Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

I think you have macular edema in the left eye from your history, and long-standing diabetes could be the reason. You may require an intravitreal injection to reduce the swelling (consult your specialist doctor, talk with them and take medications with their consent). You can check your HbA1C (glycated hemoglobin) levels to identify your average blood sugar level for the past three months. I hope I was helpful to you. Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your response.

Even though my sugar levels were in the normal limits, my HbA1C levels were consistently around 7 %. So what should I do to control my sugar levels? Kindly help. Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

You should consult a diabetologist, discuss your issues, and they will make changes in the medicines you are taking to bring down your HbA1C levels. I hope I was helpful to you. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
