Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Can you please review my blood and urine test? My concerns are a low level of ferritin, a high level of B12, and my urine WBC is very high.
Please help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Following is my opinion on your asked question. The low ferritin and low MCV (microcytic anemia) could be suggestive of early iron deficiency anemia. The common causes for high B12 include supplement intake, liver disease, or kidney disease. Your liver and kidney profile reports are normal. So do not worry about that. If you have any history of supplement intake, then mention it.
The urine excretes vitamin B12, so you might need not worry about that. High non-vegetarian foods can sometimes cause elevated B12. For low ferritin, there is no need for any treatment. Repeat your serum ferritin and serum iron after a few days. The WBC in urine could be due to a urinary tract infection. For that, investigate further with a urine culture report. Meanwhile, take more water and cranberry juice extract tablets. Attach the urine culture report once done.
I hope this helps.
