What is the treatment for bloating?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 47-year-old woman, and I have been having a lot of trouble with flatulence and bloating lately, especially after eating beans or sprouts. I know these are supposed to be good sources of protein, but they seem to be causing me a lot of discomfort. This issue is starting to really bother me. Is it something about these foods, or could it be something about my body? I am trying to eat healthily, but it is hard when these symptoms make me feel so uncomfortable. Are there ways to reduce the gas and bloating or should I be looking at different sources of protein altogether?

Kindly suggest.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I just read your query and understand your concern.

Thank you for posting your query.

Bloating can occur with excessive use of the same diet. I would recommend adding various protein sources, including eggs, vegetables, and animal proteins, as well as fish, meat, chicken, etc. You can add probiotics and healthy bacteria to reduce bloating as well. Yogurt is a natural source of probiotics, and you can use it daily. Add commercially available probiotics, like probiotic ampules or probiotic sachet, once daily for about a week. This will improve your symptoms.

I hope that you got your answer.

Regards.
