Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a 26-year-old woman. Recently, I have suffered from excruciating bloating and stomach discomfort that comes in waves. The pain is terrible and feels like it is coming from within my stomach (quite different from a typical period cramp, and my previous one was just a few days ago). I have also been warm to the touch yet felt chilly, which comes in waves. I have lately resumed eating meat. However, I started months ago, and the discomfort has only started in the last few days. I did not introduce anything new to my diet in the previous several days. Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and can understand your concern.
The causes and triggers of painful bloating and stomach pain are the following.
Dietary factors
1. Consumption of gas-inducing foods
2. Food intolerances or sensitivities
3. Overeating or eating too quickly
Digestive disorders or conditions
1. Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
2. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
3. Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis
Hormonal influences
1. Menstrual cycle-related bloating
2. Hormonal imbalances
3. Stress-induced hormonal changes
There are several effective treatments for the bloating abdomen. One common approach is to make dietary changes, such as avoiding foods that cause bloating, such as beans, lentils, and carbonated drinks. Additionally, over-the-counter medications like antacids or simethicone can help alleviate symptoms of bloating. In more severe cases, a doctor may recommend prescription medications or further diagnostic tests to identify the underlying cause of the bloating and provide targeted treatment.
I hope I have answered your question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards.
