Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am an 18-year-old female taking Prozac. I am currently experiencing diarrhea and black stool, my temperature seems high, and I have abdominal pain. It lasted for two days. Symptoms include abdominal pain, high internal temperature (fever), black stool, diarrhea, and drowsiness.
Please help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
I am sorry you are feeling this way. It sounds like you are going through a lot right now, and I want to start by saying that your symptoms, especially the black stool, ongoing diarrhea, abdominal pain, and feeling feverish, are serious and need attention from a medical professional as soon as possible.
Black stool can sometimes mean bleeding in your digestive tract, and when that is paired with abdominal pain and fever, it could point to something more urgent. Since you are taking Prozac (Fluoxetine), it is essential to know that while some side effects, like mild stomach upset, can happen, these symptoms, like black stool, are not typical and should not be ignored.
There is a possibility that something unrelated to the medication is going on, but there could also be an interaction or side effect that needs to be addressed immediately. Please do not wait this out or try to self-treat. You must tell a parent, guardian, or trusted adult and get to a doctor or urgent care right away. If you cannot reach anyone, consider calling emergency services or going directly to an ER (emergency room). Your health and safety are the top priority.
I hope this information helps you.
Thank you.
