Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
My patient is 49 years old who suffered from a closed head injury at 16 years old. More recently, he has been using his noninvasive ventilator almost continuously. We wish to try out a Hayek BCV to help him reduce using his non invasive ventilation (NIV) less often. Can you recommend the biphasic cuirass ventilation (BCV)?
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com. Thank you for the query. I can understand your concern. According to your statement, your patient had a history of head injury at 16 years old. Biphasic Cuirass Ventilation or Hayek BCV is an effective way of non-invasive external ventilation and an alternative to other types of ventilation like non invasive ventilation (NIV) or bilevel positive airway pressure (BIPAP). It is well known for its simple application, comfort, hygiene, broad application, and easy portability than other types of ventilation like NIV. It helps people in their breathing including both inspirations and expirations. It is an effective and safe method of ventilation than other traditional types of ventilation. I also highly recommend its use for your patient. Take care. In case of any other query knock me.
Patient's Query
Thank you doctor,
Thank you very much. Now I seek a prescription.
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com. Thank you for joining again. As I have not examined your patient physically, so it is difficult to provide a prescription here and it is not a place for providing a prescription. It will be better for you to contact the patient's pulmonologist. I am trying to help your patient. He can use Biphasic Cuirass Ventilation (BCV) or Hayek BCV for external use only on SOS (save our soul). Take care. Let me know if I can assist you further.
