Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have a fever and pain in my lower right heel. Additionally, my eyes water all the time. About a year ago, I also had a fever, joint pain, and severe back pain. At that time, my symptoms disappeared within a month without treatment. I also had ulcers all over my mouth. Sometimes they were so painful that I could hardly eat or drink. My doctor diagnosed me with Behcet's disease and said I should see a rheumatologist. Can you tell me whether the symptoms could indicate Behcet's and what Behcet's is?
Please help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
I can provide you with some general information about Behcet's disease and its symptoms. Behcet's disease is a rare autoimmune disorder that affects various parts of the body, such as the skin, eyes, mouth, genital area, and joints. It is characterized by recurrent oral ulcers, genital ulcers, and eye inflammation (uveitis). Your symptoms, such as fever, joint pain, back pain, and mouth ulcers, along with the previous diagnosis from your doctor, may suggest Behcet's disease.
In the meantime, try to manage your symptoms by staying hydrated, taking over-the-counter pain relievers for fever and pain, and seeking medical attention if your symptoms worsen or persist. Remember that self-diagnosis is not recommended, and it is crucial to rely on the expertise of healthcare professionals for accurate diagnoses and treatment. Treatment typically involves medications to manage inflammation, reduce symptoms, and prevent complications. Your healthcare provider will tailor the treatment plan based on your specific needs, severity of symptoms, and response to medications. Medications include the following:
Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him or her, and take the medicines with their consent. It is essential to follow your healthcare provider's recommendations and attend regular appointments to monitor your condition and adjust your treatment plan if needed. Additionally, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, including a balanced diet, regular exercise, and adequate sleep, can contribute to managing your symptoms and overall well-being.
I hope this information helps you.
Thanks for using icliniq, and have a nice day.
