Hello doctor,

I have a Bartholin cyst in my vagina that appears swollen and continuously causes pain. There is no visible discharge from the cyst, but I am experiencing discomfort and fever. Please help.

Bartholin cyst occurs due to the infection of the Bartholin gland. I suggest you follow these measures.

  1. Do not touch or squeeze the cyst they may lead to serious infection.

  2. The cyst region must be kept clean and dry.

  3. Underwear must be changed twice daily.

  4. Tight underwear must be avoided.

  5. Take tablet Emazen D (Diclofenac and Serratiopeptidase) twice daily after meals.

  6. Take tablet Augmentin 625 mg (Amoxicillin and Clavulanic acid) twice daily after meals.

  7. Tablet Pantoprazole 40 mg must be taken twice daily before meals.

  8. If the cyst does not resolve with medicine, you may need to undergo marsupialization.

Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with them, and take these medicines with their consent.
