Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am a 31-year-old male who has had feces-smelling breath my entire adult life. My dentists say I have perfect teeth. When I swallow, I can feel a small lump in my throat. I took a picture of my throat and can see my epiglottis visible. Several years ago, I underwent a barium swallow test, and no Zenker's Diverticulum was visible.
I work out regularly and try to eat healthily for the most part. I also get heartburn regularly and regurgitate small food particles like rice immediately after eating.
Please help.
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I can understand your concern.
From the pictures that you have shared (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity), it does not seem to be a lump. It is just a normal structure with some kind of small pimple that can go away with gargling. Try using baking soda and salt gargle. The foul smell can be due to stomach problems. Just eat healthy foods and drink water before you have lunch or dinner. Then try to drink water after 15 minutes. This will improve your digestion, and you will not feel heartburn and regurgitation.
Avoid eating rice as it causes acidity to you. Instead, try eating oats. Drink cumin and cardamom water early morning to get good digestion. Maintain oral hygiene properly and use mouthwash after brushing twice a day. Use dental floss also. Avoid spicy foods and bakery products as much as possible. You can try one tablespoon of turmeric with water every day to clean the body system and purify the blood.
I wish you good health and happiness. Keep me updated with the improvements.
Thank you.
