Why do I still have bad breath at 28?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 28-year-old female who suffers from bad breath. I got my teeth cleaned I thought the problem was with them, and they recommended that I use something to clean my stomach. I did take many medications with no luck and some people are saying maybe the problem is in the tonsils. Currently taking Xianghilling (a traditional Chinese medicine). I need a doctor's advice.

Kindly suggest.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your query and can understand your concern.

If you are regularly cleaning your teeth twice with flavored toothpaste and still there is halitosis, you do not have any dental-related problems. I suggest you not keep a large time gap between two meals, as it is the most found cause of halitosis.

If you have an isolated job profession, make sure you take a mouth freshener after every three hours. I suggest dental scaling, mouth freshener, timely meals, and gastric examination. In case you have crowded teeth and cavities, which may also be the cause of bad breath.

I hope I have cleared all your doubts.

Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Thank you.
