Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have had bad breath for the past two years. I also have complaints like dry mouth and dry tongue. I had a decayed tooth in the front two years back. I consulted a dentist and got it removed. I started wearing dentures to replace this missing tooth. I have been experiencing bad breath and dry mouth since the time I started wearing dentures. I have been taking candies and other foods to overcome bad breath and dry mouth. But, I am still suffering from bad breath and dry mouth. I am not under any medications. Also, I have only taken antibiotics after tooth removal. I have not taken any laboratory tests. How to cure halitosis?

Kindly give your suggestions.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Candies will not cure halitosis. It just masks your taste with sweetness, and it is also harmful to your teeth.

I need the following details to treat the symptoms of dry mouth and bad breath.

1. What antibiotics were taken after tooth removal?

2. Are you taking candies regularly?

3. What are the foods you eat?

4. How do you maintain your oral hygiene?

5. Are you using mouthwash?

6. How many times do you brush in a day?

7. Do you have any other medical problems?

Kindly follow up with the answers.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
