Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I have been in pain and weakness in my lower back, right hip, and leg (which has been severe at times) for three weeks. This resulted from prolonged weeding and lifting heavy objects incorrectly. The MRI has shown that the L2 disc protrudes, obtuse, and displaces the nerve. Yesterday I had a nerve root sleeve injection in this area, and I am resting and hoping to feel this benefit soon.
Based on my MRI report, what would you recommend as the best treatment program, and how long do you think I will have pain?
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome to iclinic.com.
MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) has no value unless you are planning surgery. After the nerve root injection, you need not take any rest. We usually make the patient walk the next minute. Most of the back and leg pains can be managed conservatively. If you have trust, then we can start with your treatment. I need to ask about your symptoms in more detail. I will ask you once you decide to go by our treatment.
Thank you.
