Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have been experiencing upper back pain, specifically in my spine, for over two months. I am not sure what caused it, but it hurts when I bend forward and settle when I am still. When pressure is applied to a particular spot on the spine, there is a sharp pain, then the pain is dull for a few minutes before going away, but it still hurts with movement. All stomach-related blood tests, such as H.pylori, came out negative. I am seeing a physiotherapist, but it is not helping, and my doctor has not advised me to do an MRI.
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and can understand your concern.
At your age, the discomfort is most likely caused by bad posture, so you should be careful of your posture and avoid being in one position for lengthy periods, such as while using the phone or working on a computer. Perform shoulder strengthening exercises as well as isometric neck workouts. Request that your physiotherapist particularly teach you these techniques, as well as a physical release of the trigger point or unpleasant tender region in your upper back. Apply ice and anti-inflammatory gels topically five to six times each day, alternating between the two.
Take anti-inflammatory medications such as Tablets. Diclofenac sodium 75 mg (milligram) twice a day after meals for a period of seven to ten days. Please let me know how you feel after ten days.
I hope this helps.
Thank you and take care.
Regards.
