Is allergic asthma a chronic illness?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 31 years old. I have been suffering from allergic asthma for the past two months. A year and a half ago, I had the same issue, and now I am facing the same issue. Whenever I come into contact with dust while cleaning or sometimes in the rainy season, I start to have sneezing and itching in my eyes, with breathing problems. I am taking Montek LC tablet daily, Livolin and Foracort fort 400 for fifty days. After taking Montec LC, I do not face any problems. While stopping the medicine, I started to have breathing problems, and at that time, I started to use Foracort for inhaler, and it provided me some relief. I want to know whether I am taking the correct one. Is it good to take Montek LC for a long time? I have been sneezing with itching in my eyes. After having it, I started using Fluticasone nasal spray, and for blocking nose, I am using Autrivin nasal drop.

Kindly help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

First, let me answer the common doubt, "Is asthma a chronic illness?" Yes, asthma is a chronic illness. Since it is allergic, it can stay lifelong. You can continue taking medicines along with inhalers as prescribed by your doctor. Try to avoid having any stimuli, such as dust and pollution, for your acute attacks. Taking these medications will not cause any serious side effects. You can take tablet Deriphyllin 400 mg one tablet in the morning and evening along with other medications.

I hope this information helps you.

Please feel free to reach out in case of further queries.

Thank you.
