What are the ways to overcome emotional breakdown, concentration difficulties, and anxiety?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have had breakdowns for years, and I cannot seem to focus on even small tasks, especially repetitive ones. It has been affecting my life and work. I cannot control myself and my emotions, which frustrates me, and I always get anxious. I know I need help, but I do not know whom to go to, and it is hard for me to tell anyone what I have been going through. I need an expert to advise. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Repeated breakdowns, poor focus even on small tasks, poor self-control, anxiety, poor motivation, impairment in functioning in work or personal life, bad thoughts about jumping off the building, losing mind, etc. could be due to some mood disturbance. This might be due to depression or severe anxiety. It can be treated with selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) drugs. These drugs will help to control your symptoms, and you will be alright. I suggest you visit a psychiatrist for evaluation and treatment. No need to feel bad about these symptoms.

Thank you.
