Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am having rectal bleeding on and off for a month. Before a month, I had a colonoscopy. The result was negative and the doctor told me that I do not have any polyps. After a colonoscopy, I started to have a hard time while going to the bathroom and my poops were very hard and strenuous. Finally, it got reduced and after that, I started to have some symptoms of hemorrhoids with bleeding. It got better and then came back again. I thought that it was getting better and after that, I started to have a bloody painful bowel movement again. Is it possible to develop anal cancer within a week or two? My problem is not getting resolved. Kindly help.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
According to your symptoms, you have developed some tear in the anal canal while colonoscopy or developed a severe bout of constipation leading to the development of anal tear. It is caused due to strain made during pooping. The anal tear can occur to anybody after constipation or due to a difficult colonoscopy procedure. The best course of action is to avoid having constipation. You need to take high fiber content in your diet with fruits, green leafy vegetables, or commercial fibers such as Isabgol husk or fibrocol. Take plenty of water approximately three liters per day. Your symptoms will get improved within a day or two. If your symptoms do not improve, then you need to consult the doctor soon for having some medicines to reduce the pain.
