How can these acne scars be removed completely?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a problem with my skin for a long time where my acne is mild but it gets worse really often. I have a natural redness which does not seem to reduce. I have dry skin that can be sensitive to a lot of things. Currently, I am using a good cleanser, moisturizer and to take my makeup off I use coconut oil. I recently came off a contraceptive pill about two months ago where my skin cleared up on one cheek but over the weekend my skin just went terribly bad. In the past to try and reduce my redness, I have used aloe vera, vitamin A, and some over-the-counter creams.

For my acne, I have practically tried everything like over-the-counter creams, acne-clearing products, and organic stuff. Nothing has worked. This is taking a toll on my mental health and I want to sort everything out.

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query.

You are still in your teenage and acne is a common problem in this age group with frequent exacerbations due to any sort of mental or physical stress. Sometimes even periods exacerbate this and stress like exam or job tension. Moreover, you have been using various topical agents and you might have got contact dermatitis with all of these. You need to understand the nature of your problem first and try to relax first.

My advice is to avoid cosmetics as much as you can. Use Brevoxyl (Benzoyl Peroxide) topical cream only at the time only on lesions in very little amount. Do not spread on the whole face.

Hope it helps.

Thank you.
