Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am pregnant. The ultrasound shows five weeks ± two weeks of pregnancy. My symptoms are fatigue, emotional, indigestion, and anger. I am on Pantocid for five days. I want to abort my pregnancy. Please tell me which method is better - surgical or medicine?
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
If your ultrasound scan shows five weeks of intrauterine pregnancy, then you can go for a medical abortion by taking tablet Mifepristone 200 mg orally stat and after 48 hours of taking this medication, you can take tablet Misoprostol 400 micrograms orally and repeat the same dose of tablet Misoprostol orally after six hours of taking the first dose of Misoprostol or you can use tablet Misoprostol 800 micrograms vaginally as high as possible before going to bed. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him or her and start taking the medicines with their consent. Do not take the above medication in case:
You may experience bleeding per vaginam which is little more than the usual periods. But, in case if it is heavy and not stopping after two to three days, kindly contact your nearest gynecologist immediately.
