Patient's Query

Hello doctor

My hair is currently in terrible condition; for many reasons, I felt that I was going to lose it; in order to overcome this, I consulted a doctor, who advised me to use hair back lotion Minoxidil 2 %. But the issue is that I was not told about the extent of my hair loss once I stopped using it. So, after using it for a year, I am experiencing severe hair loss which is not regrowing. I am concerned whether the condition will improve or remain the same.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Let me explain everything about hair loss clearly:

It is typical to lose 100 to 150 hair strands every day. If the quantity of hair is more than this, hair loss should be considered.

Female hair loss is caused mostly by stress, lack of sleep, poor diet, and excessive blood loss during menstruation.

Stress alopecia is also widespread, in which females maintain their hair excessively tight in particular ways, causing tension at the root and causing hair loss.

Straightening and other procedures might potentially induce root weakening.

Other conditions such as fever, typhoid, malaria, thyroid, and others can also cause hair loss (though this is less common).

Here are some treatment methods to improve the condition:

I suggest that you have a good sleep and consume healthy food with green vegetables and fruits

Take iron and multivitamins like Follihair for at least three months.

I also suggest that you check your blood hemoglobin levels, if it is less then I recommend you take iron and folic acid supplements.

Check thyroid and diabetic levels to rule out any other causes.

I hope this helps.

Thank you and take care.

Regards.
