Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have depression, anxiety, fast heartbeat, excess sweating, low energy, IBS with diarrhea from the last 15 years. I have taken so many allopathic medicine and showed to so many psychiatrist but no real effect. Now I am really confused that which treatment should I follow for long term.

1. Treatment 1- Tablet Nexito forte + Toficalm 100 in morning and evening and Libotryp in night. Taken in two months duration.

2. Treatment 2 - Tablet Nexito + Clonazepam 0.5 in morning and evening and Mirtazapine 15 mg in night- three months duration.

3. Tablet Nexito forte + Pronol 10 mg in morning and evening and Prestiq 50 mg in night for 2.5 years.

Please suggest which treatment should I take for my present condition as every treatment creates some problem. Which treatment has lower side effect? Please suggest as I want to get rid of my depression and anxiety completely and am unable to focus on my work. Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

As you have mentioned three different prescription in which Escitalopram and Clonazepam is common to all and rest are different drug. Each drug has its own side effects and each person may have few of these side effects.

Now, coming to your question that which one is to be used for long term, it depends upon what are the side effects you had. For example, treatment 3 may be not much effective for IBS but it is good for depression and anxiety. If you were alright with treatment 3 then go ahead with this.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thanks a lot for your valuable suggestion. As advised treatment 3 just creates excess sweating and that is why I switched to treatment option 1 and 2. Please suggest may I take below medicine under your guidance or you want to do some change in the medicine. Nexito forte, Pronol 10 morning and evening, Pristiq 50 evening. May you please provide a prescription for same.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

If the excessive sweat is creating too much problem then use Mirtazapine instead of Prestiq so that will probably take care of sweating issue. Or you can add Cyproheptadine tablet along with Prestiq to minimize the sweating issue. Otherwise, this is a good treatment option.

How was the response with treatment 1 and 2, if good then you can use that also, as all depends upon personal use and its response and side effects So regular follow up, it is better that you visit a nearby psychiatrist.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
