Can Inguinal Hernia Cause Stomach Bloating and Incomplete Bowel Movement?

Medical Case Details:

35-year-old male complaints of unsatisfactory stool and constant bloating of the stomach for the last couple of weeks. The patient feels that he is not able to pass an adequate amount of stool without straining and feeling gas in the stomach as soon as he passes the stool. His abdominal sound is normal, 2 to 3 per min. He has been eating home-cooked nutritious, healthy food, mostly vegetarian food, and occasionally meat. Also, he is well hydrated. Before this complaint, he noticed pain in the left inguinal region radiating to the left side of the scrotum. There was slight swelling in the left inguinal area and hardness in the scrotum. The pain increases every time he lifts or bends to lift something. He had an ultrasound for left inguinal and left testis to rule out an inguinal hernia, and it showed no abnormality. The constipation problem started since then, and pain with mild swelling in the inguinal region persists. I advised him to get a CT abdomen done, but due to COVID-19, he is not willing to go to the hospital. I was wondering if constipation and abdominal distention are due strangulated hernia or due to some other reason? Your advice would be beneficial. Thank you in advance.
