Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 40-year-old male. I am having panic issues. I was shot and nearly killed two years ago. I have been taking Lyrica and Serepax 25 for a month for nerve damage from the surgery following that. I start having problems when I go to meetings, or when I am around many people. I try to hide from everyone and everything. I get scared even at the thought of it. I find it hard to face anything, and I do not know what to do. I was shot in the right side of my chest; it pushed into my lungs, and lost nearly 1.05 gallons of blood, and was in a coma. I have scars around my ribs and my back. My anxiety is getting worse. Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Your first query consult is on us!

You went through a life life-threatening situation and came back. You must try to move on. You may have an anxiety disorder. There is non-pharmacological management for it, which you should try to follow. I suggest the following:

1. Exercising daily, like walking for 30 to 45 minutes.

2. Practice meditation for 20 minutes daily. I suggest you sit in a place in comfortable position, and try to concentrate on your normal breathing. Do not stop or force yourself to stop your thoughts. It will help you to relax.

3. Try eating healthy home-cooked foods. I suggest eating small quantities of food but increasing the frequency.

4. You must drink enough water.

5. You should spend quality time with friends and family daily.

6. You should spend time on creative hobbies like reading good books, writing journals, painting, drawing, and learning new skills or language or musical instruments.

7. You should get at least seven to eight hours of sleep daily.

8. You must avoid tobacco, alcohol, or any other substance abuse.

I hope that you get your answer.

Please let me know if you have further queries.

Thank you.
