Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am going through menopause and experiencing frequent hot flashes. What natural remedies or lifestyle changes can I implement to alleviate these symptoms? Can you provide insights into hormone replacement therapy for menopause, including its benefits and potential risks? Also, I am concerned about bone health during menopause. What are some strategies to maintain or improve my bone density, especially given my age and other health factors?

Kindly help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

When your hormone levels reduce and so the following symptoms start appearing like hot flushes, vaginal discharge and heart problems. Apart from it, one may also have low sexual drive. The chances of arthritis is also increased. This stage has to be managed by keeping a healthy lifestyle doing regular exercise. One should include fruits and salads in diet and intake of calcium to be increased. As far as HRT (hormonal replacement therapy) is concerned it is taken when your above mentioned symptoms affect your day to day activities and with regular checkup. The bone density can be improved by taking more calcium rich food along with vitamin D. As you know sunlight is a very good source of vitamin D. Active lifestyle is the key to long and healthy menopause.

I hope this information will help you.

Thanks.
