About "Congestive heart failure"
Congestive heart failure (CHF) is a chronic heart condition, where the heart pumps insufficiently, which results from fluid buildup around the heart. Here, the ventricles are unable to pump enough blood to the rest of the body, as a result, fluid and blood get accumulated in the lungs, abdomen, liver, and the lower body. The causes of CHF are hypertension, coronary artery condition, valves problem, diabetes, thyroid disease, and obesity. Fatigue, irregular heartbeat, swollen ankles and legs, weight gain, frequent urination, wheezing, shortness of breath, chest pain, cyanosis, and rapid breathing are some of the symptoms. The medicines used for its treatment are ACE inhibitors (Benazepril, Enalapril), beta-blockers (Metoprolol, Propranolol), and diuretics (Metolazone, Furosemide, Torsemide, Spironolactone). If medicines are not effective, then angioplasty is done.
